Baptism is the Sacrament of faith that brings a person into the Church Community and makes him or her one with Christ.
Baptism is the foundation of our life in Christ. Through the power of the Holy Spirit, Baptism:
Our Parish celebrates the Sacrament of Baptism during the Liturgy as a community event in which all church members celebrate a common faith:
We belong to the family of God and that is why we baptized during the mass. Baptism is not a private family affair. It is a celebration of the faith community and it is a welcoming into the faith community. Therefore the community should be present.
Arrangements for Baptism take place at the Youth & Family Life Center,
Monday through Thursday, 8:00 – 4:00 pm, by the Faith Formation Baptism Assistant.
Preparations for the Sacrament of Baptism are held on the second and third Thursday of the month, 6:00–8:00pm at Kemper Hall. You must attend both sessions. Remaining sessions for 2019 are as follows:
Requirements for Baptism are as follows. Please have all the necessary documents ready before you register for Baptism. This will save you an extra trip to our office.
Interview for Baptism must be done at least two weeks before the class. You cannot interview and take the class in the same week. Your class date & and child’s baptismal date will be scheduled at the time of the interview.
