You won’t want to miss this—November 10th in Spanish, November 17th in English—from 7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Social Center. Dr. Dolores Martinez will be the presenter for the first half; we will follow this with table discussions and questions from the audience. A reception will follow. Dolores was the Director of the Archdiocesan Office of Worship for many years, later becoming Director of Music at St. Mark Catholic Church in San Antonio. She speaks fluent English and Spanish. (Some questions you might expect to have answered: Why is the mass called a "sacrifice"? Do we have to hold hands during the Our Father? What is up with all those hand gestures towards the priest every time we say and with your spirit and when we say we lift them up to the Lord? Tradition vs. what is asked of us in the Roman Missal? Why don’t Catholics have outdoor weddings? Why and when are we to genuflect before the tabernacle?...What about during Mass? Why are Catholics one of few Christians that make the sign of the cross? What's with stand, sit, kneel.....when and why do we do this? Where did all this come from; did someone make it up?)
